Lewistown, Montana Newspaper Index

When I lived in Lewistown, Montana I went through the Lewistown library's entire microfilm collection of Lewistown area newspapers and photocopied the information, this is an index of the articles I have collected. If you are interested getting a copy of any of the newspaper clipping, drop me an email and I'll see what I can do at, I will scan the article and email you a .jpeg copy of the newspaper page - rrofmt@hotmail.com

Since the information is printed from the microfilm, some of the copies are not the best since the original's were not the best, generally everything is legible, but then some of the articles are challenging to read. Whatever the case, there is some fantastic information for anyone interested in Central Montana transportation history. Just looking at the index is fascinating - take a look!

I would like to thank the past, present and future staff of the Fergus County, Lewistown, Montana library for helping me compile this index; from retrieving the endless rolls of microfilm, assisting me with the viewer/printer when it jammed and for trusting me when I stated how many copies I made [they never did check my count!]

As I understand it, the Montana Historical Society in Helena, Montana has a complete microfilm inventory of these and nearly all newspapers that were printed in Montana, so I am in gratitude for their preserving this rich heritage for all of us.
